The chain is going to invest Rs 100 crore to open 10 more centers in Kerala in 2-3 years
Dr Agarwals Group of Eye Hospitals, one of the largest eyecare chains in India, has opened a new tertiary care eye hospital in Kochi. Mr. Jayasurya, the famous Malayalam actor, director, and film producer, inaugurated the hospital in the presence of Dr. Adil Agarwal, CEO, Dr Agarwals Group; Dr. Sony George, Regional Head – Clinical Services, Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, Kerala Central, and the entire staff of the new facility.
On the occasion, Mr. Jayasurya pledged his eyes for donation.
Dr Agarwals Eye Hospitals is already present in Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam in Kerala. To mark its foray into Kochi, the new hospital is offering free consultations for patients till January 31, 2023.
The Kochi hospital, spread across 8,000 sq. ft., is located on Mahatma Gandhi Road, Padma Junction, Kacheripady. It hosts high-end facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of cataract, glaucoma, neuro ophthalmology, retinal diseases, diabetic retinopathy, corneal services, and paediatric ophthalmology diseases, among others. It offers a wide array of super-specialty eyecare services, including advanced surgical procedures such as Microincision Cataract Surgery (MICS), Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) surgery, and vitreo retinal surgeries. The Kochi hospital has 5 experienced doctors and over 15 paramedical staff. It houses a pharmacy and an optical center.

Hence, it gives me immense satisfaction to inaugurate its new centre in Kochi. The importance of eyes for our health, well being, productivity, independence, and dignity cannot be over emphasized. Hence, we should take all precautionary measures to maintain and boost the health of our eyes. It is also important to seek professional eye care when necessary, and do eye checkup regularly. Talking about the group’s presence in Kerala and its future expansion plans, Dr. Adil Agarwal, CEO, Dr Agarwals Group of Eye Hospitals, said: “Kerala has always been an integral part of our expansion strategy in South India. We are happy to open a greenfield center in Kochi, following the overwhelming success of our existing hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam. We aim to open 10 new centers in Kerala in the next 2-3 years.
