Case of Mr. Ashutosh, a 36-years old male and a marketing manager at a pharmaceutical company in Panvel.
He visited Advanced Eye Hospital and Institute (AEHI) located at Sanpada, Navi Mumbai with complaints of burning sensation in eyes, itching, redness and excessive watering of eyes.
Being a manager Mr. Ashutosh has to manage his team and simultaneously he has to spend most of the time in front of his Laptop and also has to travel to Vashi, Nerul, Kharghar, Panvel, etc for his work. But he was unable to go out in a day light due to his eye problems. He found dust scales and stickiness in his eyes that made it difficult for him to keep his eyes open. This started affecting his work. He took leaves for 2-3 days, but still there were no signs of relief. Finally, he decided to visit an eye specialist at AEHI.
As he entered AEHI, he got his routine eye evaluation done. Then he had his consultation with Dr. Vandana Jain, Cataract and Cornea specialist at AEHI. Dr. Jain checked his eyes and diagnosed the condition as Blepharitis. Further, she carried out a slit lamp examination to know if there were any other abnormalities in the anterior portion of the eyes.
What is Blepharitis?
Dr. Vandana Jain prescribed an antibiotic ointment for his eyes and asked him to do warm compression 3-4 times a day. She said, this which will help in loosening the scales and cleaning the debris around the eye lashes.
Mr. Ashutosh came for his follow-up after a week. Dr. Vandana Jain examined his eyes, the inflammation in his eyelids had reduced, the itching sensation and watering from the eyes also reduced.
