Dr. Ryan DSouza is a practicing Ophthalmologist registered with the Medical Council of India and Maharashtra Medical Council, with over 15 years of experience in Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Ryan DSouza completed his schooling from St. Stanislaus High School, and graduated from S. Xavier’s College. He has acquired his medical degree from the MGM Medical College, New Bombay in 1994 and his post graduate degree in Ophthalmology from JNMC, Belgaum in 1999. He was awarded the University Gold Medal in Ophthalmology in 1999. He has also acquired his Diplomat of National Boards (DNB) in Ophthalmology in 1999 and is a fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Ryan DSouza presently runs the CEDS Eye Hospital in Bandra and is also attached as an honorary Consultant to the prestigious Lilavati Hospital and Medical Research Center in Mumbai. He has also consulted at various hospitals like Holy Family Hospital, Holy Spirit Hospital, CFS- NVLC and St. Elizabeth Hospital since 2001.
His primary areas of interest are in Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Ryan DSouza has been involved as a US FDA investigator in the clinical trials for the ReStor Multifocal IOL implant in 2006. He is also actively involved in academics, has delivered several lectures and been involved in different academic boards on domestic and international platforms. He also has a keen interest in Medical Retina and has completed a short term Retina fellowship from the Aravind Group of Eye Hospitals, Madurai. Dr. Ryan DSouza is presently affiliated with prestigious organizations like the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, American Academy of Ophthalmology, European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons, All India Ophthalmological Society, Maharashtra Ophthalmological Society, Bombay Ophthalmologists Association, Bombay Nursing Home Association, Association of Medical Consultants and the Medical Guild of St. Luke. In his spare time, he has a keen interest in information technology and writes his own software code, reading and playing chess.
