Dr. Kavita Rao is a well renowned Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgeon in India.

She has done a long-term fellowship in Cornea at the Cullen Eye Institute, Baylor College of Medicine, U.S.A where she trained exclusively in the latest advances in Cornea, LASIK and Refractive Surgery. Prior to that, she honed her skills with a long term fellowship in Cornea and Anterior Segment at the distinguished L.V.Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. She has trained in advanced cataract surgery techniques at the Sankara Nethralaya Hospital, Chennai. She received the University Gold Medal for the best student in ophthalmology at the K.E.M hospital Mumbai.

She is a skilled surgeon proficient in Microphaco Cataract Surgery in routine and complex cataract cases with premium intraocular lenses having performed thousands of cases successfully. She has performed a vast number of conventional corneal transplants as well as the sutureless corneal transplants (DSEK/DMEK) and lamellar DALK surgery.

She specializes in advanced Keratoconus management with corneal crosslinking, INTACS, Topo guided PRK having trained internationally for the procedure. She is proficient in all refractive surgeries namely, LASIK/ Bladeless or FEMTOLASIK/ SMILE/ PHAKIC IOL. She is an expert in limbal stem cell transplants in patients with chemical injuries.
